POLST, Appeals, and Granny Snatching, Oh My!: Recent Developments in Georgia Fiduciary Law

The POLST has already been endorsed by 16 states; it aims to address some of the problems that people have faced when relying solely on an advanced directive for health care. Georgia joined this group of states in 2010 by passing minimalist legislation on the topic; but with this new statute, the legislature more completely spells out the intended effect and implementation of the POLST, as well as clarifying its liability and immunity provisions for physicians.
